(Vienna, 20.05.2021) Today's International Clinical Trials Day is a reminder of the scientific progress enabled by clinical trials. Via clinical research, new medicines and other treatments are made available specifically for children with cancer.
St. Anna Children's Cancer Research Institute (St. Anna CCRI) has included more than 16,000 patients in international clinical trials since 1980. As childhood cancer entities often affect only a few patients worldwide, clinical trials must include as many centers around the world as possible. Because valid results and thus scientific progress are only possible if appropriately high case numbers are accrued. Not least thanks to their tight international network, pediatric cancer researchers and physicians are pioneers in clinical research. A big thank you for your tireless efforts!
