PhD student position
Leukemia Research/Molecular and Cell Biology
A PhD position is immediately available in the Leukemia Biology Group of Renate Panzer-Grümayer at the Children’s Cancer Research Institute of the St. Anna Kinderkrebsforschung.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic PhD student to join our research team. The major focus of our group is to understand how childhood leukemia develops and to unravel the mechanisms and functions of genes implicated in this process. The PhD project aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms by which the ETV6/RUNX1 fusion protein initiates and maintains the leukemia.
Applicants should be experienced with standard methods of molecular and cell biology. Previous experience with expression arrays as well as interest in bioinformatic analysis will be an advantage. Applicants must have a diploma degree in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry or a related subject. The successful candidate is expected to quickly take responsibility for leading her/his project and should be able to independently plan and conduct experiments.
