Scientific Advisory Board
The research programme of the CCRI is mainly funded through donations to the St. Anna Kinderkrebsforschung. The institute's researchers recognize this as an obligation to public accountability and scientific quality. To ensure international standards of research the institute submits its performance to regular review through a board of independent scientists.
Every three years the CCRI is assessed by members of a scientific advisory board (SAB). This panel of independent, internationally acknowledged scientists meets at the CCRI to discuss scientific issues with the institute's researchers. Subsequently, the SAB provides a detailed report about the CCRI's activities with suggestions about future directions and possible improvements.
The members of the current scientific advisory board:
Dr. Lee J. Helman, National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, USA
Dr. Jean Michon, Institut Curie, Paris, France
Dr. Shai Izraeli, Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, Israel
Stephan Ladisch, MD, Children´s National Medical Center, Washington, USA
Prof. Dr. Klaus-Michael Debatin, Universität Ulm, Germany
Fabio Candotti, MD, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA
Prof. John H. Kersey, MD, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA
Nyla A. Heerema, Hughes Institute, USA
Prof. Bertil Johansson, University Hospital, Lund, Sweden
Their vision and far-sighted feedback have contributed to the institute’s success in the past. It is their remit to ensure that the research program of the CCRI meets international standards also in the future. The scientists of the CCRI appreciate the positive and constructive criticism this body has provided over the years. Therefore, we extend our gratitude to all members of the scientific advisory board, past and present.
